    Its true that you have to have valid passport (which is not expiring withing 6 monts) at the time of visa stamping.

    Get a new passport before you leave for India. You can apply for a new passport in India Consulates in USA. Google it and you will find out more.

    Hi All

    I have a question regarding filling of I485.

    My wife got her H1 approved in November 2006 and she got her SSN in december and her company has not put her on a project.

    I would like to know will there be any issue if I file her as my dependent on my I485 application.

    Her H4 visa on the passport is already expired.

    Hi

    It will great help if some body can help regarding this.

    I had my H1B from A Company,Recently i have moved to B Company where i was asked to go to UK for Business purpose.I have yet to have stamping from B Company.I still have valid visa till end of next year from Company A name stamping in the passport.Will there be any issues for comming back from UK without having stamping.

    You can use the valid visa from Co. A provided that you also show the H-1B approval from Co. B on returning to the US.

    The House of Representatives on Saturday night passed a sweeping health care bill by a vote of 220-215. In the next few weeks, this bill will be analyzed and there will be various summaries online regarding this important piece of legislation. I would like to focus on the Immigration related matters in the Bill.

    The Congressional Hispanic Caucus staunchly oppose including a provision that would bar undocumented workers from using their own money to buy health insurance policies available through the exchange.

    The measure is already included in the Senate Finance Committee's version of the bill and is backed by the White House. Some conservative House Democrats have also indicated their support for the Senate language.

    Several Hispanic Caucus members who discussed the issue with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Friday said they had received assurances the Senate language would not be included. Rep. Charlie Gonzalez, D-Texas, warned Thursday that several caucus members might try to block the House bill if it's changed to conform to the Senate measure. Pelosi's bill includes various requirements for immigrants to verify their citizenship before getting federal subsidies to buy health insurance. Conservatives, however, have called the requirements insufficient.

    We will review the Bill and report on more important points that will be of interest to Immigrants.

    thanks gcwaiting!!! I was so worried, my attorney told me that I onlyhad 45 days, maybe he wanted his payment in 45 days......
    This is to complicated and INS take a lot of time to respond....By the way do you know aproximately how long will take to receive the I-140 approval? And if there is a chance to receive a DENIED notice? I'm so wooried about all this process and alo because I don't have the best attorney in th all world, and sometimes I don't know what to do...I'm learning a lot fom this forums. Thanks Again....

    Hi all,

    I am new to this thread. I have a bachelor degree in Applied Science in IT and got it in about 1 and half years because I got an points exemption from my advance diploma. I also have 7 years of IT working experience and currently hold a H1B1 visa. H1B1 and H1B are not the same thing. The question is can I apply for my GC in eb2 category?

    I received RFE's on the AP application for myself and my wife in the last week of September. We received our Fingerprinting notices the following week. We had our Biometrics done on October 12th. As far as my experience goes, I do not think RFE on AP should adversely affect the receipt of fingerprinting appointment notices.

    I have a request / concern / what ever you would say.

    Please do not cirtize if you do not like the idea, just ignore and leave the thread.

    There are so many people comming to IV for other experts guidance on different things mainly on H1B status, AC21 status, AP, FP, EAD and H4 to EAD, .....

    Why don't you create a general guide lines or rules or do's and don't or QA's for each topic, so that each member or visitor who come to IV can atleast go through them before asking or posting quesitons.

    You can create a survery for different kinds of questions people / members / visitors might ask or have fore each topic before creating the thread so that we can have a pool of questions and answers for each topic from experts or attorney answered. (you might say we have recordings from attorney Prashanti Reddy, but it would be good if we have some thing which can be referred easily i.e., typed.

    These are just some of my thoughts, it can or cannot be implemented. It depeneds on IV admins/Gurus/Experts on this forum.

    Gurus, please provide your thoughts.

    Please do not ignore this though. It might become a very good guidelines/guide/rulesbook for all, not all questions might be answered but we can atleast try to cover most of the questions through survery and then create the thread for each topic.

    Good luck to all. IV is great in doing such a tremendous job.

    My wife's priority date is current now (Marriage took place before the acceptance of my GC). We have to options - applying for FTJ or I-485 as my wife is in USA currently on a visit visa.

    Any suggestions if we can apply for I-485 from here, as that is our preference.

    After you applied your 485 and work for the same company for 180 days, also you got your EAD. .....

    Can someone change the employer afterwords (after 180 days) without worrying about H1B visa renewal/transfer?

    If so what are the requirements....common guru's give us some hopes....

    Middlesex County Superior Court Judge James Hurley ordered firms that register domains and provide hosting services -- GoDaddy Inc., Network Solutions, Comcast Cable Communications Inc. and DiscountASP.Net, to disable the three sites, ITgrunt.com, Endh1b.com, and Guestworkerfraud.com. Facebook Inc. was also ordered to disable ITgrunt's Facebook page.

    The order was made in response to a libel lawsuit filed by IT services and consulting firm Apex Technology Group Inc., based in Edison, N.J. against the three Web sites opposing the H-1B visa program (http://www.h1b.biz/lawyer-attorney-1137085.html). Such attacks on H1B supporters increased last year as the economic situation was gloomy, and prospects for employment were not looking good. Yet, we all know that the H1B program is not the cause of all evil and in fact is a boosting factor in creation of new jobs and opportunities for American workers. Lets hope that the antis will take it easy in 2010, and focus on the real issues at stake.
